Campaign for Human Development
CCHD “helps people help themselves” to move beyond poverty.                                  
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by funding community programs that encourage independence. You are essential to its success. Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities serves the nation’s poorest and most vulnerable people regardless of faith. Our collective efforts focus on a collection of core areas that we believe can make a difference in the lives of people in need.  Ministries: Refugee and Immigrant · Homelessness and Housing · Children and Youth · Behavioral Health Services: Aging Support Services

Catholic Communications
Through Internet, social networks, television, radio, and print, the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) helps the Church spread the Gospel message through the media locally and nationally. Half of all donations to the CCC collected in our diocese stay in our diocese to support local communications needs, such as radio and television programming and diocesan publications.

Catholic Education
Monies are used to help provide tuition support for needy students & their families in our diocese. Please be generous in your support of Catholic school students for tuition assistance to provide a faith-based education to students in need.

Catholic Home Missions
Here in the United States, our home mission dioceses are unable to fund essential pastoral work and so they struggle to serve the needs of their communities. Right now, over 40 percent of dioceses in the United States are considered home missions. Through your support, the Catholic Home Missions Appeal helps ease the struggle of these dioceses and form vibrant faith communities by funding programs such as religious education, seminarian formation, and lay ministry training. Please help strengthen the Church at home, and prayerfully consider supporting this appeal.

Catholic Relief Services
Catholic Relief Services carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. We are motivated by the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all human life, foster charity and justice, and embody Catholic social and moral teaching as we act to:

• PROMOTE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT by responding to major emergencies, fighting disease and poverty, and nurturing peaceful and just societies; and,

Churches in Eastern & Central Europe
Since the collapse of the former Soviet Union in 1991, Central and Eastern European countries have been working to rebuild political structures, social welfare, and their economies. The funds collected are used to support seminaries, youth ministry, social service programs, pastoral centers, church construction and renovation, and Catholic communications projects.

Diocesan Priest Retirement Fund
The Priest Retirement Fund offers a way for us to give back to our Catholic priests who have served us so faithfully. Your contribution will help priests live modestly and peacefully in retirement. Help us offer thanks for their years of devotion to God and our communities.

Ecuador/Working Boys’ Center
The WBC serves the working children and their entire families. This characteristic makes this mission a unique agent for social change. The strength of a society depends on the welfare of the whole family. All members of the families of the working children receive the benefits provided by the Family of Families and learn a technical profession. In this way they contribute to the elimination of unemployment, one of the determining factors of poverty.  For more information visit www.c4wf.org.

Ethnic Minorities and Latin America
The Collection for the Church in Latin America supports pastoral programs as awarded by the Subcommittee on the Church in Latin America throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.  Projects include the work of evangelization, formation of laity, religious and seminarians, as well as youth ministry and catechesis.

Holy Land
The Collection for the Holy Land, in the words of Paul VI is "not only for the Holy Places but above all for those pastoral, charitable, educational, and social works which the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities."

Mission Co-Op
Every summer, as part of the Mission Co-Op Program, the Diocese of San Jose welcomes missionary groups, dioceses from around the world. Each year, these missionaries visit our parishes to educate the people of our Diocese about the missionary work of the Church, to request the support of prayer and to receive financial assistance for their needs. Every parish of our Diocese is given the opportunity to help in this vital work.

Pastoral Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa
Africa faces the economic and social hurdles of enormous debt, epidemic, severe poverty, and political unrest. Funds collected support schools, evangelization and outreach projects, and education of clergy and religious in Africa.

Peter’s Pence Collection for the Holy Father
Donations to this collection support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the assistance of those most in need.

Retirement Fund for Religious
The Retirement Fund for Religious (RFR) distributes grants to religious institutes for the retirement needs of senior religious priests, brothers, and sisters. The fund also helps religious institutes plan and manage their retirement needs and programs.

St. Vincent de Paul
Your help provides direct help to the poor in the local communities throughout the United States. Since 1845, Vincentians have met face-to-face with individuals and families in poverty to provide support and help them through the most desperate times. Through your generosity, you help people struggling to survive, including: Housing and Utility Assistance, Job Training and Placement, Food, Clothing, Medical Care .

World Mission Sunday
World Mission Sunday gathers support for the pastoral and evangelizing programs and needs of more than 1,150 mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and remote regions of Latin America. The funds gathered on World Mission Sunday are distributed in the pope's name by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith—a Pontifical Mission Society.
